Alex Shakes Off the Blues

Is that the way home?

PSV’s Brazilian defender, Alex, has reportedly flown home to Brazil after flying to London for talks with Chelsea. The stopper has long been a target for Chelsea and aside from the fact that they practically own the player (They have to pay PSV one dollar for him as Chelsea gave them the player in the first place when they signed him from Santos), things have not been exactly running smoothly. The player had flown into Heathrow for talks while Chelsea are still trying to sort out a work permit. At immigration his status was questioned which led to a four hour wait untill he got the hump and hopped on a plane back to Brazil. In an effort to defuse the situation a Chelsea spokesperson said:

“At airport immigration there was a request to clarify Alex’s current status. All of the paperwork for his entry was in order. After an initial delay, he was cleared to enter the country. He chose voluntarily to fly back but will return when necessary.”

Meanwhile Rosenborg winger, Daniel Braaten, has agreed a £425,000 switch to Bolton. The 25 year old had been garnering interest from around Europe but little Sam has stolen a march on his rivals by acquiring the Norweigian’s signature. Thefc100 doesn’t know much about this new addition to the premiership but by the looks of it, this lad doesn’t know much about anything. Talking about the challenge of breaking into the first team squad he said:

“I guess I should put the ‘on’ button on more”

And on Bolton itself he produced another gem:

“I don’t know much about the place, but I do know some of the players and a little bit about the club. It seems exciting. Definitely a step up.”

Yes, Definitely. Fulham have tabled a bid for Watford’s Hameur Bouazza. Sanchez is looking to strengthen his squad and the 22 year old would be a good addition. Watford are likely to hold out for 3 million but reports suggest that Fulham have already met this valuation. Manchester City have had a bid rejected by Juventus for Giorgio Chiellini. The player who previously was told that the club would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave has now, miraculously been included in the club’s future plans. Seems like a case of ‘if nobody wants you, you can go but if someone shows interest we’re keeping you’. Obviously if Man City want a player then Juve would be mad to let him go…
