Ah…the rumour mill….

The Daily Express reports today that John Terry is set to shock Chelsea by handing in a transfer request. Terry is reportedly furious that the club aren’t offering him wages on the same level as those of Mr ‘I score goals for fun in the Carling Cup’ Shevchenko and Mr ‘I prefer golf’ Ballack. Now that would make for an interesting start to the summer. Can you imagine John Terry vs Kaka in Serie A? No…me neither….Along related lines, Joey Barton is being courted by Roma, Atletico Madrid and Hamburg. My good god…..

The Sun re-hashes the worlds most boring rumour, Darren Bent has had a 15million price tag placed on his head. Arsenal, West Ham, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle (obviously, another striker is exactly what they need) are all being linked with a ‘swoop’ for the striker who has been linked with a big money move away from Charlton for…..well, forever.

One of my favourites is from the same paper, that Mark Viduka is on his way to Old Trafford. (However, believe it or not, Newcastle are also waiting to snap up the Aussie striker. Did I say striker? Maybe he could play alongside Owen, Ameobi, Martins and Bent in a 2-3-5 formation next season?).

Sam Allardyce will reportedly look to ‘shore up’ his defence with the signings of Sami Hyypia, Sol Campbell and er…J’Lloyd Samuel….Toon fans, you have my sympathies. According to the Daily Mail, Allardyce is willing to listen to offers for Celestine Babayaro, Antoine Sibierski, Stephen Carr and Charles N’Zogbia. I believe three of them are defenders. Ah well, all is not lost, the most obvious signing of the summer will surely follow, Tal Ben Haim is being linked with a free transfer to rejoin Big Sam in Newcastle.

It could be worse of course, you could be a Sheffield United fan. The Times reports that Sheffield United want an ‘experienced’ manager to replace Neil Warnock. Apparently Carlo Ancelotti would rather stay with Milan so United have turned to the old reliables (in that they’re not reliable at all) with Bryan Robson, Micky Adams, Steve Cotterill and Chris Coleman all being linked to replace the loveable Warnock in the Brammal Lane hotseat.
