How’s this for a hell of a rumour. Thierry Henry is being sensationally linked with Liverpool. Now this, we have to assume, is utter rubbish. However, because it’s the best rumour of the summer so far, we’re gonna leave it open to the floor (while stirring it up a little)….
Bookmakers William Hill have slashed the odds on Thierry Henry joining Liverpool from 10/1 to 3/1 after a flurry of betting within the Merseyside area in the last number of weeks. Having initially set the odds at 10/1, the bookmakers have had to dramatically cut the odds after heightened speculation and a series of bets on Henry leaving rivals Arsenal for a shock move to Liverpool.
Recent activity on the forums on Liverpool’s official website has also been feverish on the idea of Henry joining for the past couple of weeks.

While Thefc100 welcomes nonsensical transfer rumours, this one seems a little far-fetched. What kind of price would Henry fetch considering Liverpool are amongst Arsenal’s greatest rivals? (Althou-gh, Liverpool had apparently been contemplating £35 million for Eto’o….). Why would Wenger let Henry leave? (Althou-gh, Henry has been less and less committed to staying recently…)
Still, just thought we’d bring it to everyone’s attention if they hadn’t seen the rumours already….

yeah, so I hear today that we won’t be spending like a drunken sailor after all. god dammit. so no henry (not that there was ever really a chance of that). no eto’o. no silva. no villa. no alves. no torres. no tevez. probably no malouda. just more of the same mix of the half-assed, the trouble-making and the mediocre. more 4th place, more cup runs, more condescension from chelsea and man utd. more looking to next season by january. more moral victories. more pressure without goals. more tame taps and blasts wide. and more seething, screaming, bursting, ball-breaking frustration… christ, we might even bring cisse back.
