Done deals?

Claudio Ranieri has taken over the managerial vacancy at Juventus. Didier Deschamps, linked with the vacancy at Lyon before Alain Perrin took over at the Ligue champions, resigned last week after leading Juventus straight back to Serie A following their demotion last season. Ranieri, who was rumoured to be taking the reins at Man City if their proposed takeover proved successful, led Parma to safety from the brink of relegation in the final games of the season but clearly has his sights set on bigger things, and will be armed with substantial funds to return his new club Juventus to the summit of Italian football…..

Titus Bramble has become the first signing of new boss Chris Hutching’s reign at Wigan. Bramble, released by Newcastle following an indifferent spell in the North-East, has signed on a free transfer and Hutchings stated after completing the signing:

We’re all very excited about it and hopefully we can bring one or two more in. Once I spoke to him he wanted to come here and he is a great signing for us.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has undergone yet another operation which his surgeon is describing as a complete success. However, the surgeon revealed that it was too early to know whether it would be a recurring problem for the injury-prone striker. Solskjaer, who is likely to step up his coaching role at the club and play less as a result, will continue his rehabilitation over the summer, and should still be fit for pre-season training.
